The Charleston Exchange Club held a bingo games fundraiser at the VFW Lodge in Charleston on November 8th.  Our purpose was to raise money for the Prevention of Child Abuse, and this was our first time to ever run an event of this kind.  Tickets were sold in advance and at the door for the event.  We also went to the banks and some businesses and asked for donations to support our cause.  The community responded beautifully!  For this first attempt, we raised $1,130 net of expenses.  Donations were made to Sexual Assault Counseling and Information Services, Children's Advocacy Center, and Court Appointed Special Advocate, all organizations here in Charleston that do incredibly good things for abused children.  We followed-up with a photo and newspaper submission article for all three organizations.  This will become an annual signature project to raise funds for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
