Lincolnland Club and District Leaders,

Happy New Year, and let's make 2010 a great year for Exchange!

The National Exchange Club Mid-Winter Conference will be held in La Quinta, California, on January 7th - 9th.  District President-Elect Kathy Johnson and I are scheduled to represent Lincolnland at the conference, which will feature discussions on National issues.  If you have a comment or question regarding National Exchange, please forward it to me by Wednesday, January 6th, and I'll discuss it with the National representatives in La Quinta.  I'll also provide a brief summary of the Mid-Winter Conference in the next "Lincolnland Update".

Division 11 Director Bill Jones has accepted a new professional position and is in the process of moving to the Baltimore area.  Bill served as Alton Club President in 2008-2009 and was a key contributor to the success of last year's District Convention in Fairview Heights.  We congratulate Bill on his new endeavor, we wish Bill and his family all the best for the future, and we thank Bill for his service to Lincolnland Exchange.

During the Holiday Season, did you forget to get a present for that special business associate, friend, or family member?  Well, it's not too late to give the Gift of Exchange.  Bring that special person to your next club meeting, share with them your reasons for joining Exchange, and discuss all the positive impacts your club has for your community.

Mark your 2010 calendars: Our Lincolnland District Convention will be June 10th - 13th at the Holiday Inn Select in Naperville.  District Convention Chair Stan Rocush and the Host Committee are busy preparing for a very entertaining and productive convention.  Also, our National Convention will be July 21st - 24th in La Quinta, California.  Please see the latest issue of Exchange Today for hotel information.

I'd like to thank the Champaign, Urbana, Round Lake Area, and Tri-Cities Clubs for their hospitality during my recent visits.  On December 9th, the Champaign and Urbana Christmas Holiday Party featured fine food and an outstanding singing performance by 16-year-old Caitlin Caruso Dobbs.  The Round Lake Area Club honored longtime Exchangite Fergal "Pat" Gallagher with their Book of Golden Deeds on December 13th.  Also, Tri-Cities had a detailed Healing Field discussion during their December 22nd breakfast meeting.  Thanks for sharing your Exchange Club camaraderie!

And finally, congratulations to the Tri-Cities Club, which will celebrate its 31st anniversary in Exchange on January 6th.  Thank you for your commitment to your community.

Welcome to 2010, and thanks for all you do in the Spirit of Exchange.
