Lincolnland Club and District Leaders,
The March edition of the Lincolnland Link will arrive at your homes shortly. This edition features articles on the LMV Charter Banquet and Naperville's Healing Field; recaps of our Lincolnland Mid-Year Conference in Bloomington and the National Mid-Winter Conference in La Quinta, California; columns by District President-Elect Kathy Johnson and me; and updates from our clubs around the district. We will have a quick turnaround for our next issue, which will include complete information regarding our Lincolnland District Convention in Naperville on June 10th - 13th. The deadline for submitting information for the following issue is Thursday, April 1st (no fooling). Please continue forwarding your electronic photos to Link Editor Jason Koch atkochjason19@yahoo.com and your club newsletters to Link Reporter Marge Keenan-Denniston atmargekd101@yahoo.com.
Speaking of our District Convention, please consider how you'd like your club to be introduced during our inaugural Parade of Club Banners. Also, if you'd like more information on the convention, please contact District Convention Chair Stan Rocush at sfrocush@msn.com. Depending on the timing, Stan might be able to schedule a visit to your club to discuss our District Convention and the National Exchange Club Foundation, for which he serves as a trustee.
The Lincolnland Board held a teleconference on Saturday, February 27th. During the call, our new LMV Club was formally placed in Division 1, and board members discussed concerns and successes around our district. The successes focused on our programs, events, and fundraisers, while some of the concerns regarded membership. We did get a boost with a net of 3 new members during February, with Alton, Champaign, Grayslake, Mattoon, Quincy, Naperville, Round Lake Area, and LMV all showing positive growth for the month. Please keep passing the word on the great impact that Exchange has on your community, and take advantage of "Stand Up with Exchange", our 90-day trial membership program which runs through March 31st.
District President-Elect Kathy Johnson is in the process of scheduling Club Officer Training Sessions for April. More information will follow in the next Lincolnland Update.
