The Exchange Club of Waukegan, which chartered on June 15th, 1937, is about to celebrate 73 years of service to Waukegan and Lake County.  Happy Birthday!

The club stays active and involved in making Waukegan a better place to live.  Two fundraisers each year, including a pancake day in the fall and a bowl-a-thon in the spring, help to support the various projects and organizations in and around Waukegan.

Projects completed this year include Proudly We Hail, GiveAKidAFlagToWave at the Independence Day Parade, Healing Fields, Outstanding Fireman and Policeman Recognition Awards for Waukegan and Lake County, Fire and Crime Prevention, Book of Golden Deeds, National Day of Service, Youth of the Month and Year Awards, Young Citizenship Award, YMCA Camp Jorn Scholarships, and Campaign for Kids.  The club also supports free meal and food pantry programs, Catholic Charities, Staben House, Staben Center, Waukegan High School music groups, the Lake County Exchange Club Foundation, and programs of service by other organizations and the Waukegan Park District.

Club social functions include our annual golf day at Bonnie Brook before the installation dinner, a Christmas party, birthday recognitions at club meetings, gatherings at local spots like Joplin's Java and Jazz Club, and attending concerts at the renovated Genesee Theater.

We are proud of our members and organizations that we support.  They all deserve a hand for their dedication and effort in making our community a better place to live.
